"We love the warmth and coziness of the timber frame. Our home is fairly large but doesn't feel big and empty. We never tire of just looking at the structure -- it is beautiful..."

Morningview

More photos...

"Morningview" is a spectacular home, at 7,800 sq ft in size. It boasts timber frame in all the major rooms which are linked by conventional construction which technically makes this a "hybrid" home (uses both conventional and timber frame construction to frame the home).

The name "Morningview" was chosen by the clients because the main rooms of the home all face the rising morning sun.

The frame itself was crafted in reclaimed Douglas Fir with the exception of the master bedroom which was crafted entirely out of Black Cherry. The Douglas Fir timbers were salvaged from an old distillery in Ontario, then resawn and given new life as a new timber frame. Cathedral ceilings, magnificent hammerbeam bents, unique window designs and a stunning exterior and setting make this home a true masterpiece indeed. The design is reminicent of a French country manor and features a brick exterior with timber embellishments.
